Where the extra heat comes from

A turbocharger is driven by exhaust gas, so it sits in one of the hottest parts of the engine bay. Compressed intake air also gets hot, and the engine makes more power from a small displacement. All of that heat has to leave through the coolant and the radiator. When the coolant's corrosion protection is worn out or the mix is wrong, deposits build up in narrow passages and cooling margins shrink.

If the level is low, use the coolant Geely specifies. Water alone is a short-term emergency measure that dilutes boiling and corrosion protection, and two different coolants can react or simply cancel each other's additives. Colour is not a specification: two bottles of the same colour may be different chemistries.

Summer traffic and a compact engine bay

Slow summer traffic means little air through the grille while the A/C condenser in front of the radiator dumps its own heat into the same airflow. Keeping the grille and condenser fins free of dust and insects, and fixing small leaks early, gives the expansion tank and the rest of the system the margin they need in July and August.
