Geely UAE lists the Starray with a 2.0TD turbo petrol engine and 4WD, so it is likely to see slow, high-load driving in sand as well as summer traffic, both hard on the cooling system. Use only the coolant type Geely specifies; colour is not a guide. Geely UAE does not publish the coolant specification, mix, capacity or interval, and ShipMyPart has not verified them, so we confirm the coolant by VIN.

Fluid specifications for this model are confirmed by VIN on request.
A radiator relies on air passing through it. In soft sand the Starray can be working hard at walking pace, with the fan doing almost all the work and the air-conditioning condenser adding heat in front of the radiator. That is the situation where a weak fan, a partly blocked radiator or a low coolant level shows up first.
After desert trips, sand and dried vegetation collect between the condenser and the radiator. Have them blown out from the engine side with low-pressure air, or rinsed gently; a pressure washer at close range can flatten the fins. Clean fins are one of the least expensive ways to keep the temperature gauge steady in summer.
| Look at | Good | Needs attention |
|---|---|---|
| Reservoir level | Between MIN and MAX | Below MIN or dropping weekly |
| Hoses | Firm, dry joints | Soft, swollen or crusted |
| Expansion tank and cap | No residue | White or coloured crust around seams |
Stop in a safe spot, keep the bonnet closed until things cool, and switch off once you can. Do not open the cap on a hot engine. If the level is low after cooling and you must move, add only the specified coolant (or water in an emergency) and drive gently to a workshop. Possible causes include a leaking hose, a failing water pump, a stuck thermostat or a blocked radiator; a workshop confirms which.
Coolant protects the engine's internal passages against corrosion and scale as well as heat. Mixing types or diluting with tap water weakens that protection over time, and deposits then narrow the passages that keep a turbo engine cool. Stick to the type Geely specifies, and flush rather than mix if you are unsure what is in the system.
End of the dune season is a sensible moment to refresh the cooling system before summer. Give us the VIN; we confirm Geely's coolant type and the amount for a flush and refill, and can add a radiator or hose if the workshop finds sand damage.
Compatibility verification required
No fluid or part is listed here until its specification has been checked against Geely's requirement for your vehicle. Send your VIN and we will confirm what fits before you order.
Send your VIN (chassis number) and we will confirm the correct coolant for your Geely Starray.
The type Geely specifies for the Starray's engine. ShipMyPart has not verified it; check the owner's manual or send us your VIN.
Slow, high-load driving gives the radiator little airflow, so the fan and coolant do more of the work.
Blow sand out from the engine side with low-pressure air or rinse gently; avoid a close-range pressure washer.
Avoid it. Only coolants meeting the same specification should be combined.
ShipMyPart has not verified the capacity; we confirm it by VIN.
Follow the service book or a Geely service centre. We don't quote an interval until it is verified.
