A UNI-K air-conditioner that blows warm air, cools only on the move or has lost most of its airflow can have several possible causes: a refrigerant leak, a compressor or compressor-clutch problem, a condenser blocked with dust, a sticking expansion valve, a weak blower motor or a clogged cabin filter. ShipMyPart has not verified the refrigerant type or charge for the UNI-K, so a qualified workshop should measure the system before anything is refilled or replaced. Once the faulty part is known, send the VIN and ShipMyPart sources the matching part.
| Topic | Status |
|---|---|
| Model and grade | UNI-K Limited, as in the current Changan UAE brochure |
| Engine | 2.0T GDI turbo petrol, 390 N·m; power not quoted because the official figures differ |
| Drive | 4WD |
| Not verified | Refrigerant type and charge, compressor design and oil, number of climate zones |
The label under the bonnet is the reference for refrigerant details on your own car, and A/C parts are matched to the VIN because the brochure carries no model year.

| When it happens | Area to suspect first |
|---|---|
| Warm air from the moment the A/C is switched on | Refrigerant charge, compressor or its control |
| Cool on the motorway, warm in a queue | Condenser airflow and the cooling fan |
| Cooling fades and returns in cycles | Expansion valve, moisture in the circuit or the compressor clutch |
| Air is cold but barely flows | Cabin filter, blower motor or evaporator face |
| Noise as the A/C engages | Compressor, its clutch or the drive belt |
| Damp or musty smell | Evaporator, its drain or the cabin filter |
Possible causes include problems on three sides of the system. Several can combine.
Refrigerant side. A slow leak from a hose joint, an O-ring or the condenser lowers the charge; a compressor that is worn or whose clutch does not engage stops the refrigerant moving; an expansion valve that sticks starves or floods the evaporator.
Airflow side. A clogged cabin filter or a tired blower motor limits how much air reaches the vents, and a dust-coated condenser or a fan that does not run cannot shed heat when the car is slow.
Control side. A pressure switch, sensor or wiring fault can prevent the compressor from being switched on even when the hardware is healthy.
| Part | Role |
|---|---|
| A/C compressor | Pressurises and circulates the refrigerant |
| Compressor clutch | Engages the compressor on designs that use a clutch |
| Condenser | Releases heat at the front of the car |
| Expansion valve and evaporator | Meter the refrigerant and chill the air behind the dash |
| Blower motor and cabin air filter | Push clean air into the cabin |
| Pressure switch and refrigerant hoses | Guard the pressures and join the circuit |
Skip the DIY recharge kits. The refrigerant has not been verified for the UNI-K, the system is pressurised, and the wrong gas or quantity can harm the compressor.
A non-cooling A/C is rarely a roadside emergency, but there is one exception. If you smell burning, see smoke, or hear a squeal or grind from the engine bay followed by the temperature gauge climbing, stop safely and switch off: a seized compressor can damage the belt that other engine systems may share.
Otherwise, plan a visit to a qualified workshop if the air stays warm, you never hear the compressor cut in, A/C pipes show oily stains or the compressor has become noisy. Proper A/C testing involves a leak check, reading the high- and low-side pressures with gauges, and recovering and recharging the refrigerant to the amount on the vehicle label: equipment work, not a driveway job.
A UNI-K left in an open car park through a summer afternoon starts every trip with a very hot cabin, and the A/C then runs at full load for most of the year. Desert outings in the 4WD throw fine sand at the condenser, and dusty air loads the cabin filter quickly. City driving adds long periods at idle where the condenser depends entirely on the fan, which is where a weak component tends to show itself first.
Ask your workshop for the full list of parts the repair needs, since a failed compressor can bring other items with it. Send that list and the VIN to ShipMyPart on WhatsApp or through the quote form, and we match each part to your UNI-K and quote with UAE delivery. Recharging and fitting are done by the workshop. If the car often goes on desert trips, ask the workshop to inspect the condenser and cabin filter in the same visit to save a second trip. For other components, start from the Changan UNI-K spare parts page.
Compatibility verification required
No part is listed here as compatible until it has been matched to your vehicle. Send your VIN and we will confirm which parts fit before you order.
Send your VIN (chassis number) and we will confirm the correct air-conditioning parts for your Changan UNI-K.
Possible causes include low refrigerant from a leak, a compressor or clutch that does not engage, a pressure-switch fault or a blocked condenser. A workshop pressure test is the way to narrow it down.
At low speed the condenser relies on the fan. A fan fault or a condenser clogged with sand are possible causes worth checking.
ShipMyPart has not verified it. The label under the bonnet or a workshop can confirm it before any recharge.
ShipMyPart has not verified the interval. Follow the service book; in dusty UAE conditions it is worth having it inspected at each service.
Generally yes, unless there is a burning smell, smoke, loud noise from the compressor or a rising temperature gauge. In that case stop safely and switch off.
Yes. Send the VIN and we match and quote the compressor or any other A/C part with delivery in the UAE. Fitting is done by your workshop.
