When a Changan UNI-T cabin will not cool, start by deciding whether the air is cold but weak, or plentiful but warm. Weak cold air points first to the cabin filter or blower; warm air points to the refrigerant loop, where possible causes include a leak, a compressor or clutch that will not engage, a pressure switch cut-out, a dusty condenser or a sticking expansion valve. A qualified workshop measures pressures to confirm, and parts are matched to the VIN.
Applies to the UNI-T as sold by Changan UAE (Sport and Limited, Blue Core 1.5 Turbo GDI, Aisin 7DCT, 2WD). Changan UAE publishes nothing about its climate system: refrigerant, charge weight, compressor design, per-grade climate layout and the model year are not stated. Confirm every cooling part below by VIN.

| Moment | Complaint | Part to ask about |
|---|---|---|
| Climbing in after a day parked outdoors | Cabin takes far longer than it used to | Refrigerant hose, condenser |
| Red light, engine idling | Vents go lukewarm, recover on the move | Condenser, radiator fan |
| Pressing the A/C button | Nothing cold at all | Compressor, pressure switch |
| Blower on top speed | Only a whisper of air | Cabin filter, blower motor |
| An hour on the E11 | Cold fades, later returns | Expansion valve, evaporator |
| First start of the morning | Damp, sour odour | Evaporator, cabin filter |
| Compressor cutting in | Clatter or squeal | Compressor clutch |
The system moves heat out of the cabin in a loop of four stages. Possible causes include a weak link at any stage:
Squeeze. The compressor raises refrigerant pressure. If its clutch will not pull in, the pressure switch blocks it, or it is worn inside, the loop stalls.
Shed. Hot, compressed gas gives up heat in the condenser ahead of the radiator. Dust, bent fins or a lazy fan mean it cannot, and idle is where that shows.
Meter. The expansion valve lets a measured trickle into the evaporator. Stuck one way it starves the core; stuck the other it can ice it.
Absorb. The evaporator behind the dash soaks up cabin heat, with the blower pushing air through the filter across it. A choked filter or tired blower wastes cold that the loop did produce.
Underneath it all, a low charge almost always means a leak somewhere in the loop, and refilling without finding it rarely lasts.
| UNI-T part page | Pressure side | Owner can inspect? |
|---|---|---|
| Compressor / its clutch (if fitted) | Turns low into high | Listen only |
| Condenser | High | Yes, by eye through the grille |
| Pressure switch | Monitors both | No |
| Refrigerant hose | Both | Look for oily film only |
| Expansion valve | Turns high into low | No |
| Evaporator | Low | No, hidden in the dash |
| Blower motor | Air side | Feel the airflow |
| Cabin air filter | Air side | Yes, see owner manual |
Air-side test (seated): temperature to minimum, recirculation, blower at maximum, hand at each outlet. Cold but feeble everywhere suggests the filter or blower, both owner-checkable items; the manual shows where the filter sits.
Front view (parked, cold): torch through the grille at the condenser; sand mats and plastic bags are common finds.
Listen (idling, bonnet up): switching A/C on should bring a click and the fan. Keep fingers, hair and sleeves clear of anything that spins.
Leave the sealed side alone: no recharge cans, no opening fittings. Changan UAE does not publish the UNI-T charge, and too much refrigerant harms compressors.
Stop driving and switch off safely if a shriek or scorched smell comes from the engine bay with the A/C engaged, or the temperature needle starts to rise alongside it: a locked compressor or dead fan is no longer only about comfort.
Otherwise, have the vehicle diagnosed by a qualified workshop when a recent refill has already faded, the compressor stays silent or rattles, oily film shows at an A/C joint, or the outlets smell persistently. Gauges, a leak detector and a recovery station are needed for the sealed side.
In a UAE summer the UNI-T cabin soaks up sun quickly. The compressor works most of the year, idling queues rob the condenser of airflow, and coastal humidity leaves the evaporator moist overnight. Shade parking, a sunshade and a fresh cabin filter before summer make life easier for the system.
Cooling hardware on the UNI-T may change between production batches, so the chassis number is our reference. Write us the number and the technician's phrase as given, such as "compressor not engaging", and we return with the corresponding part, its cost and when it arrives. Gas filling, removal and installation sit with the workshop. Other parts pages for the car: Changan UNI-T spare parts.
Compatibility verification required

Send your VIN (chassis number) and we will confirm the correct air-conditioning parts for your Changan UNI-T.
At a standstill the condenser depends on the radiator fan. Possible causes include a fan fault, debris on the condenser or a low charge.
Changan UAE does not publish it. The under-bonnet label or the service data shows it, and a workshop can read it for you.
No. Without gauges the loop can be overfilled, and the leak that emptied it stays.
Probably not; that pattern usually points to a blocked cabin filter or a weak blower motor.
Moisture and dirt on the evaporator or filter are the usual sources. A new filter and an evaporator clean often help.
Yes. Send the VIN and the workshop finding; we match the part and quote with delivery in the UAE.
