MG UAE's current GT brochure lists two different powertrains: a 1.5-litre engine without the T designation (1,498 mL, 109 HP, 140 N·m) paired with a CVT, and a 1.5-litre turbo (1,490 mL, 168 HP, 275 N·m) paired with a dual-clutch DCT. Both drive the front wheels. Because the engines differ, confirm which one your GT has before buying oil. No engine codes or oil data are printed, and ShipMyPart has not verified grade, quantity or interval, so we check the VIN first.
| GT 1.5 | GT 1.5T | |
|---|---|---|
| Displacement | 1,498 mL | 1,490 mL |
| Aspiration | Naturally aspirated | Turbocharged |
| Power / torque | 109 HP / 140 N·m | 168 HP / 275 N·m |
| Gearbox | CVT | DCT |
Different displacements alone show these are separate engines. The VIN identifies yours.

The 1.5T develops almost twice the torque of the 1.5 without the T and has a turbocharger that depends on the oil for cooling. Engines with such different loads frequently have different oil requirements, and the filter can differ too. Treat them as two cars when shopping for oil.
The 1.5 without the T badge makes its peak torque high in the rev range (4,500 rpm on the brochure), so city driving keeps it working at moderate load most of the time. It is less demanding on oil than the turbo, but short trips in heat still age oil, and the level should still be checked regularly.
| Part | Why the version matters |
|---|---|
| Oil filter | Filters are matched to the engine, and the GT has two |
| Turbocharger | Only on the 1.5T; its oil feed and return lines need checking at services |
| Oil pressure sensor | A false warning with a full sump often traces back here |
| Engine assembly | For major damage, ordered by version from the VIN |
A new drain-plug washer on the oil pan costs little and prevents seepage.
A compact sedan in the UAE often spends its day on short city legs with long idling and full air-conditioning, which most service books class as severe use. Look at that part of the schedule for your GT. We have not verified MG's interval, so we don't quote one.
Tell us whether your GT says 1.5 or 1.5T, or simply send the VIN. We match the oil and filter MG lists for that engine, confirm how much you need and quote with UAE delivery.
Compatibility verification required
No fluid or part is listed here until its specification has been checked against MG's requirement for your vehicle. Send your VIN and we will confirm what fits before you order.
Send your VIN (chassis number) and we will confirm the correct engine oil for your MG GT.

Don't assume so. They are different engines (1,498 mL and 1,490 mL); we confirm yours by VIN.
The grade and approval MG specifies for your engine. ShipMyPart has not verified them; check the owner's manual or send us your VIN.
We confirm the quantity for your engine by VIN; it is not verified on this page.
Follow the service book and its severe-use schedule. We don't quote an interval until it is verified.
