Two gearboxes, two fluid families
A CVT fluid is formulated so a steel belt grips the pulleys without slipping. A DCT fluid is formulated for gear teeth, synchronisers and, in wet designs, clutch packs. Putting one into the other gearbox gives the wrong friction where it matters most. Wet or dry clutch design is not stated for the GT's DCT, which is another reason the VIN is needed.
