Jetour T2 Engine Oil (2.0T Petrol)

العربية

Quick answer

The UAE petrol Jetour T2 uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, listed as the SQRF4J20 in Jetour UAE's MY2027 specification sheet. The right engine oil is the viscosity grade and performance standard Jetour specifies for your vehicle; a turbo-rated label alone is not enough. ShipMyPart has not yet published those values, so send us your VIN and we will confirm the oil, the fill quantity and the matching oil filter before you buy.

Check your model year and VIN first

This guide covers the petrol Jetour T2 2.0T (4WD) sold in the UAE. It does not cover the T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid, which has a different powertrain.

Jetour UAE's own documents show the T2 has changed between versions: its model pages describe a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, while the MY2027 specification sheet lists an 8-speed automatic. So don't assume that oil details from another T2, another market or an older model year apply to yours.

  • Where to find the VIN: on your vehicle registration card (Mulkiya) and on the vehicle's VIN plate.
  • Also useful: the model year, current mileage and your last service record.

Why the oil specification matters on this engine

According to Jetour UAE's MY2027 specification sheet, the T2's 2.0-litre engine is turbocharged and uses direct petrol injection (GDI). In an engine like this the oil also lubricates the turbocharger's bearings and carries heat away from them, and it has to resist the deposits that direct-injection engines can form.

That is why an engine oil is defined by two things:

  • Viscosity grade (the "xW-xx" figure on the bottle), which describes how the oil flows when cold and when hot.
  • Performance standard or approval (for example an API, ACEA or manufacturer specification), which describes how the oil has been tested.

Two oils with the same viscosity grade can meet different standards, so check both.

What to check before you buy engine oil

  • The exact grade and standard for your T2, from the owner's manual, the service booklet or a VIN check.
  • The fill quantity with a filter change, so you buy enough oil without large leftovers.
  • The right oil filter for your engine (see below).
  • Your service contract. Jetour UAE sells the T2 with a 3-year / 30,000 km service contract. If yours is still active, check what it covers before buying oil separately.
  • Records. Keep the receipt and the oil specification with your service history, particularly while the vehicle is under warranty.

The oil filter: change it with the oil

Fresh oil that passes through an old, partly clogged filter starts its life already contaminated, so the oil filter is normally replaced at every oil change. The filter must also match the T2's engine: thread, size and internal valves differ between filters that look alike.

Send us your VIN and we will match the oil filter together with the oil. You can also browse Jetour T2 oil pumps and filters.

Signs the oil needs attention

  • Oil pressure warning light: stop safely and switch the engine off. Do not keep driving.
  • Low oil level (on the dipstick or the instrument display, depending on the vehicle) between services: the engine may be using or leaking oil.
  • Drips or oily residue under the car or around the engine.
  • Service reminder overdue, by distance or by time.
  • Engine noise at start-up or a burning-oil smell: have the car checked rather than simply topping up.

Heat, idling and short trips: severe use in the UAE

Long periods of idling with the air-conditioning on, slow traffic, very high outside temperatures, dusty conditions and towing are typical examples of what service schedules call severe use. Under these conditions oil ages faster than in steady highway driving.

ShipMyPart has not yet verified Jetour's oil-change interval for the UAE T2, for normal or severe use, so we don't quote one. Ask your Jetour service centre whether your driving counts as severe use, and follow the interval they confirm.

Frequently asked questions

What engine oil does the Jetour T2 take?

The grade and performance standard Jetour specifies for the T2's 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. ShipMyPart has not yet published these values; check the owner's manual or service booklet, or send us your VIN and we will confirm the correct oil before you buy.

How much engine oil does the Jetour T2 need?

The capacity with a filter change is listed in the owner's manual. We have not yet verified it for the UAE T2, so we don't quote a figure; we confirm the quantity by VIN when you order.

How often should I change the oil in my Jetour T2?

Follow the interval in your service booklet or confirmed by your Jetour service centre, and ask whether UAE heat and idling put you on the severe-use schedule. We have not yet verified the interval, so we don't quote one.

Is the engine code the same for every model year?

Jetour UAE's MY2027 specification sheet lists the SQRF4J20. We have not yet confirmed the engine code for earlier UAE model years, so check it by VIN.

Does this guide cover the Jetour T2 i-DM?

No. The T2 i-DM is a plug-in hybrid with a different powertrain. This guide covers the petrol T2 2.0T only.

Can ShipMyPart supply engine oil and an oil filter for my T2?
